NEW JOBS is the State’s largest and most influential ideological business political action committee. Other interest groups put their backing behind candidates who understand their specific issues. We do the same in supporting candidates for New Jersey Legislature that protect and defend business.
Collectively we pool our resources to give the biggest bang for your buck to create a better business climate in New Jersey.
You can play a role by making a donation, attending or sponsoring one of our legislative networking events, or volunteering your time.
HOW DOES NEW JOBS DECIDE WHO TO SUPPORT?
The bi-partisan NEW JOBS Board of Trustees engages in a lengthy evaluation process. In a typical election, they spend days interviewing legislative candidates to determine how support can be allocated to benefit the entire business community. They have the knowledge and experience to read between the lines of campaign rhetoric and support truly pro-business candidates!
WHY NOT CONTRIBUTE DIRECTLY TO THE CANDIDATES?
1. One contribution to NEW JOBS satisfies requests from many candidates. In State legislative elections when 240+ candidates are seeking business contributions, this is important.
2. NEW JOBS is not seen as Pro-Republican or Pro-Democrat. We are Pro-Business!
3. We have a proven track record. NEW JOBS has existed for over 50 years — we wouldn’t continue to thrive if our approach didn’t work.
4. By pooling its resources, NEW JOBS can increase its impact. In some cases, NEW JOBS has been the largest contributor to a candidate’s campaign which sends a strong message. A NEW JOBS endorsement has more value now than ever.
WILL A CONTRIBUTION MATTER?
Yes! Although, New Jersey has seen some pro-business policies passed in recent years, we continue to face burdensome regulations and the potential for new mandates. With campaign costs increasing and the time demands upon our part-time Legislature rising, businesses must do whatever they can to ensure that pro-business candidates can compete!
